The Power Solutions Departments, Building Technologies Department and the Medical Engineering Department moved to a new office today. The ceremony took place at No. 36, Kynsey Road, Colombo 08, by Mr and Ms Ranjith Pandithage, Mr Sarath Algama, Mr Ajit Algama, Mr Wijith Pushpawela, Mr Chandena Kodituwakku, Mr Samantha Gunawardena, Mr Roshan Fernando, Mr Janaka Rodrigo, Mr Rakhitha Gunasekera and members of the three departments together with the DIMO Tribe participated at the event.

Hon Kumara Welgama, Minister of Transport declared open the Pilot Project by DIMO and Siemens to introduce an Electronic Railway Crossing Signaling System to Sri Lanka. Mr. B.A.P Ariyaratne (GMR of Sri Lanka Railway), Mr Manish Agarwal (Division Cluster Lead – Siemens Mobility and Logistics SA), a Representative from the German Embassy, Mr Ranjith Pandithage, Mr Gahanath Pandithage, Mr Sarath Algama, Mr Anil Kamath (Siemens Country Manager in SL), Mr Wijith Pushpawela, Mr Roshan Fernando, Mr Janaka Rodrigo and Mr Nalinda Kurukulasuriya took part in the event.
This new automated signaling system is installed at the crossing at Kosgama-Kadugoda road at Kosgama. The sensors on either side of the track triggers the light and audible signaling on either side of the road. This is a fully automated system with its own power source. The system allows manual override in case of an emergency. The first train successfully went through the automated system at 11.30am.
