Agri Research and Development

Our Agri Techno Parks are the central hub of all next generation agriculture activities of DIMO Agribusinesses. The three Agri Technology Parks are now fully established in strategic locations to cover different agro-ecological regions in the country. We carry out innovative agricultural production coupled with technology application, and best management practices. In addition, trials are conducted of our products, be it seeds, fertiliser, plant protection materials, irrigation systems etc before reaching the market or the end consumer. All our parks are used as a centre for learning innovations and technology applications in agriculture production for farmers, university & school students and interested parties.

DIMO currently operates 03 Agri Techno Parks in Dambulla, Lindula and Nikaweratiya.

Specialised in providing high-quality solutions that aim to nurture a healthy crop growth right from the root level. All our crop care & fertiliser products, whether organic or inorganic, undergo vigorous field trials in different locations in the country to ascertain their effectiveness against numerous crops before certifying for sale.

Postharvest losses of perishables amount to more than 40% in the country. Another activity of our R&D team is to conduct postharvest related research through an undergraduate research program in our facilities. We provide these solutions to farmers to minimise their crop losses.

Developing crop-specific fertilizer mixtures/blends, introducing high-quality seeds, and combining knowledge, skills, and technology through our R&D and technical teams are fundamental to our business and the industry as a whole. Moreover, we have a seed testing lab in Dambadeniya to ensure the best available products in the market.

As part of our technical strengths in the Agri sector, DIMO’s seeds and specialty products evaluation ensures we work in finding the best solutions to enhance each stage of the production process, with a sophisticated lab for soil testing.
