DIMO sweeps CA Sri Lanka Annual Report awards

DIMO carried away a haul of five awards including Silver for overall excellence and Gold awards for winning three sectors.

Diesel and Motor Engineering PLC (DIMO) swept five awards at the CA Sri Lanka Annual Report Awards 2016, winning the overall Silver Award for the best annual report in the competition as well as Gold awards for Integrated Reporting, Best Disclosure on Business Model and for Diversified Holdings (Groups up to ten subsidiaries) and a Silver award for Management Commentary.

DIMO’s was recently recognized by Chamber of Commerce as one of the Top Ten Corporate Citizens in Sri Lanka, at the Best Corporate Citizen Sustainability Award 2016. The Project “Team Shark”- Formula Student was also awarded as one of the top 5 projects at the same event, in recognition of DIMO’s commitment beyond the bottom line.

DIMO’s achievement of winning 5 awards was considered a major feat considering the strong competition from more than 140 annual reports. This recognition stands testament to DIMO’s longstanding corporate commitment to transparency and accountability to its stakeholders. DIMO has been a pioneer of integrated reporting in Sri Lanka and is the only Sri Lankan entity to have been a part of the International Integrated Reporting Committee’s pilot program leading to the establishment of the Integrated Reporting Framework.

DIMO has been consecutively winning the top award for integrated reporting sector since 2012/13 – the year the category was introduced to CA Sri Lanka Annual Report Awards. Moreover, DIMO has been dominating the sector of Diversified Holdings (up to five subsidiaries which was later awarded under up to ten subsidiaries) by winning the top award consecutively for the last 12 years.

DIMO first published an integrated annual report for the year ended 2010/11 and has since consistently received commendation from international experts for conveying a complex value creation story in a compellingly readable, clear and concise presentation. This year’s winning report was the company’s sixth integrated report.

The DIMO annual report for 2015/16 was presented under the theme ‘What you see is what you get’, referring to the impeccable trust and transparency that forms the basis of the 77-year-old company’s enduring relationships with its stakeholders.

DIMO Chairman Ranjith Pandithage, speaking on behalf of his DIMO Tribe, said: “We are humbled by this consistency in our performance year after year. We thank CA Sri Lanka and the organising committee for presenting us the opportunity to get recognised for our genuine efforts to publish an annual report of world class quality and simplicity. We are driven solely by the desire to create better value for stakeholders by improving our social, economic and environmental performance.”

Diesel and Motor Engineering (DIMO) PLC has for the second consecutive year, claimed the top award at the ACCA Sustainability Reporting Awards. The awards recognise Sri Lankan companies for the transparency, accountability and responsibility of action as reflected in their Sustainability Reporting. In addition to being named overall winner, DIMO was also the winner in the “Conglomerates and Diversified” category.

DIMO gets recognized multiple times at Great Place to Work 2016 Awards

Diesel and Motor Engineering PLC (DIMO) has yet again been recognized as one of the ‘Great Places to Work in 2016’ in Sri Lanka. This is the 4th consecutive year that DIMO has achieved this accolade.

Each year, Great Place to Work (GPTW) partners with more than 5,500 organizations with some 10 million employees worldwide to conduct the largest annual set of workplace culture studies in the world. This research which is laser-focused helps top leaders create their own great workplaces, according to a DIMO statement. This year Great Place to Work Sri Lanka recognized 25 companies having the best conducive working environments for their staff.

At an event held recently at Cinnamon Grand, GPTW representatives handed over the GPTW 2016 Certificate to Mr Ranjith Pandithage (Chairman and Managing Director – DIMO). Moreover, DIMO carried away multiple awards at event which included Best Public Limited Company (PLC), Special Category award for Excellence in Talent Acquisition and the top prize for “We love our Workplace” video contest.Great workplaces are built through the day-to-day relationships that employees experience. The key factor in common in these relationships is TRUST. TATA Motors One World – Annual Distributors Awards 2016

TATA Motors held their Tata Motors One World – Annual Distributors Awards 2016 on the 21st March 2016 at JW Marriott Hotel New Delhi. Mr Ranjith Pandithage, Mr Gahanath Pandithage, Mr Vijitha Bandara and Mr Nalinda Kurukulasooriya participated representing DIMO.

And most importantly DIMO was crowned as the overall winner “Distributor of the Year 2015 – Winner”
