German Street Festival 2013

October 8, 2013

To celebrate the Germany-Sri Lanka 60 Years Business Partnership, the German Embassy in Sri Lanka organized a Street Festival at Green Path on 6th October 2013 from 3pm to 9pm. The Street Festival started off with a Classic Car Rally representing some of the Best German Automobile Brands – Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and VW. DIMO had five related stalls representing Mercedes-Benz, Bosch Power Tools, Osram Lighting, KSB Pumps and Siemens Medical & Power Engineering.

His Excellency Dr. Juergen Morhard (German Ambassador), Mayor of Colombo AJM Muzammil and Mr Ranjith Pandithage opened the Street Festival, and signed the Berlin Bear to signal the opening. The Street Festival was colorful, loud and full of life. There were plenty of Bavarian Food and Beer for the attendees. There were many dance acts, songs and skits done by students from Schools, and also included a specially flown-in German Band called the “Talking Horns”. “Talking Horns” carried out an awesome performance with some traditional drummers from Jaffna. “Nadro” carried out another scintillating performance in the night. Continuous music, food and beer kept the evening alive at Green Path.
