On 26 April 2025, DIMO Nature Club organized a field visit to the Madu River and the Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation Project (KSTCP), providing members with an opportunity to explore Sri Lanka’s rich biodiversity and learn more about environmental conservation. During the visit, members enjoyed a boat safari along the Madu River, discovering its diverse ecosystem while also gaining insights into the traditional cinnamon industry practiced in the surrounding area.

The visit continued at the Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation Project, where participants learned about the importance of ex-situ conservation and ongoing efforts to protect and rehabilitate sea turtles. The experience provided valuable knowledge on the critical role turtles play in maintaining healthy marine ecosystems while encouraging greater awareness of wildlife conservation and environmental sustainability.
