At DIMO, sustainability continues to be embedded into the way we think, work, and create long-term value for the DIMO Tribe and the communities we serve.
Rooted & Reimagined; Sustainability Mini Summit was successfully held on May 8th at the DIMO 800 Auditorium, bringing together over 100 participants, including members of the DIMO Upper Management, external partners, and colleagues from across the DIMO Tribe.
The summit was designed to shift the internal perspective on sustainability from being viewed as a separate initiative to being recognised as a core driver of long-term profitability, business resilience, and responsible growth. A significant milestone of the event was the unveiling of the progress of the DIMO Sustainability Agenda 2030, along with a renewed agenda supported by data-driven KPIs to guide future sustainability efforts.
The event featured several interactive sessions led by industry experts:
- Strategy in Sync – Randhula De Silva and Arj Wignaraja from Goodlife X explored reimagining business models through the lens of sustainability.
- The Community Pulse – Chathuranga Abeysinghe, Deputy Minister of Industry & Entrepreneurship Development, highlighted the critical role of data in measuring social impact.
- Rights-based Wellness – Sarah Soysa, National Program Lead at UNFPA Sri Lanka, discussed the importance of sexual and reproductive health and rights-based conversations within the workplace.
- Designed for Earth – Heminda Jayaweera, Executive Director of TRACE Sri Lanka, showcased how innovation serves as the core of sustainable development.
The summit concluded with an insightful panel discussion titled
“The Cultural Core,” which focused on the practical application of sustainability at DIMO. The panel featured Suresh Gooneratne, Rajeev Pandithage, Dinuk Peiris and Dilrukshi Kurukulasuriya, and was expertly moderated by
Janani Wijethunge, Head of Programmes & Governance at the UN Global Compact Network Sri Lanka.
Initiatives such as these reflect DIMO’s continued commitment to strengthening sustainability awareness, inspiring responsible action, and fostering a culture where sustainability is deeply rooted and continuously reimagined across the DIMO Tribe.
