DIMO Celebrates International Women’s Day 2026 with “Women in Focus”

DIMO celebrated International Women’s Day 2026 with “Women in Focus,” held on 13 March 2026 under the inspiring theme “Give to Gain.” Reflecting DIMO’s continued commitment to gender equality, workplace inclusion, diversity and inclusion, and women’s empowerment, the event created a meaningful platform to encourage dialogue, awareness, and stronger workplace belonging.

The programme opened with a lively debate on whether diversity and inclusion in the workplace improve an organization’s financial performance. Following an engaging exchange of ideas, the team advocating that inclusive workplaces and equal opportunities contribute positively to business performance emerged victorious, reinforcing the value of creating a culture where every employee can thrive.

The event also featured an interactive discussion led by Dr. Yasuni Mannikage on “Love and Family in Modern Sri Lanka: Navigating Relationships in a Changing World.” The session resonated strongly with the audience, encouraging reflection on the evolving realities that shape the personal and professional lives of women in today’s society.

Adding a creative and impactful dimension to the event was the stage drama “Workplaces SHEnanigans,” performed by DIMO employees. Through humour and storytelling, the drama highlighted the challenges women may face in professional environments while underscoring the importance of respect, inclusion, equal treatment, and supportive workplace culture.

The celebration concluded with breakout sessions for female employees, offering a safe and supportive space to share their experiences, perspectives, and aspirations. Facilitated by Dr. Sulochana Segera and Ms. Senela Jayasuriya, these sessions brought the event to a meaningful close while reaffirming DIMO’s commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace, advancing women in leadership, and promoting a culture built on equity, respect, and empowerment.
