Reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship, DIMO, in collaboration with the Wildlife Conservation Society Galle, organized a series of training workshops for field guides in the Sinharaja Forest Reserve on 22, 23, and 24 August 2025. The initiative was launched in response to a request from the Forest Department of Sri Lanka, reflecting DIMO’s proactive role in supporting national conservation priorities.
The programme was structured to strengthen responsible eco-guiding practices, covering species identification, field ethics, and environmental law, while also featuring both day and night field visits to ensure hands-on learning. Expert knowledge was shared by the Young Zoologists’ Association of Sri Lanka, enriching the training for more than 80 participants.
At the conclusion of the workshops, participants received certificates and tokens of appreciation, recognizing their commitment to enhancing eco-guiding standards.
This initiative forms part of DIMO’s broader sustainability agenda, as the company continues to extend its expertise and partnerships towards safeguarding biodiversity and promoting responsible tourism across Sri Lanka – truly Fuelling Dreams and Aspirations.
