DIMO-Siemens Partnership Delivers State-of-the-Art Substation in Etulkotte

The inauguration ceremony for the Etulkotte Substation, part of Ceylon Electricity Board's (CEB's) Package 05 project under the Green Power Development and Energy Efficiency Improvement Investment Programme (Tranche 2), Medium Voltage Distribution Sub projects, was recently held.

The project was executed by the consortium of Siemens Ltd., India, and DIMO Pvt Ltd., who served as the contractor. We were responsible for the electrical design, local engineering, and logistical work, including civil and electrical installations, as well as testing and commissioning of the substation. The Etulkotte Substation is the final substation to be commissioned in this three-substation package. It features two 16 MVA, 33/11 kV transformers, which will strengthen the distribution network of LECO and CEB, ensuring a more reliable power supply to the Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte area.

Mr. Ronald Comester, General Manager of CEB, took a moment to acknowledge the dedication of DIMO Energy and Siemens in completing the project despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing economic crisis. He emphasized that while the inauguration ceremony may seem like a simple task, CEB recognizes the immense effort and commitment that DIMO Energy and Siemens have invested to deliver a substation of exceptional quality.

This project is yet another reflection of DIMO Energy's continuous commitment to power the future.
