Amidst the lush greenery, you'll also encounter playful Monkeys and stealthy Crocodiles, adding an element of adventure to your journey.

Birdwatchers will be thrilled to know that Kaudulla is recognised as an area where over 160 species of birds have been identified, including the vibrant Kingfishers and majestic Eagles. The air is alive with their calls and the sky adorned with their graceful flight. One of the park's special attractions is the Ceylon Spotted Deer, a unique subspecies of the Axis Deer found exclusively in Sri Lanka. These elegant creatures add a touch of wonder to the park's wildlife tapestry.

Kaudulla is also known for its spectacular 'Elephant Gatherings,' where herds of these magnificent animals come together to graze and socialize. This phenomenon adds to the park's charm and showcases the harmony between wildlife and nature. Adding to its historical significance, the Kaudulla Tank, believed to have been built by King Mahasen in the 3rd Century, offers a glimpse into Sri Lanka's ancient engineering prowess. The park's irrigation reservoirs, constructed by ancient civilizations, stand as a testament to the island's rich history.
