SIEMENS – DIMO consortium signed the contract with CEB recently for Package 04 Lot A of the National Transmission and Distribution Network Development and Efficiency Improvement Project funded by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and it was the largest ever consortium based project awarded to DIMO.
Chairman of CEB Mr. Vijitha Herath, Vice chairman Mr. Y.G.I Saman Kumara signed the contract with Mr. Nikhilesh Amonkar, Head of SIEMENS Distribution Systems business, Mr.Mitul Jhaveri, Manager Finance, SIEMENS Ltd and Mr. Sarath Algama, Managing Director of DIMO (Pvt) Ltd. The witnesses were Ms. S.H Diddeniya, project director of CEB, Mr.Prasad Palsokar, SIEMENS Country Manager for Sri Lanka and Mr. Wijith Pushpawela, Executive Director of DIMO. Also, Mr. Prakash Kumar Chandrakar – Country BU Head, Mr. Venkatesh Sarathy (VS) – Country BU Finance Head from SIEMENS, Ms. Wickramasinghe, project Manager, CEB and Mr. Janaka Rodrigo, General Manager, Institutional sales, DIMO Ltd was present at the occasion.
The objective of the National Transmission and Distribution Network Development and Efficiency Improvement Project is to enhance the capacity of national transmission and distribution network located in Greater Colombo and its surrounding area and to reduce transmission losses by constructing or upgrading transmission lines, sub-stations and distribution lines, thereby contributing to improvement of energy reliability and energy efficiency in the country. The package 04 Lot A of the project is aimed at enhancing the capacity of national transmission and distribution network located in Dehiwala, Mt. Lavinia & Battaramulla area of which the scope includes Construction of Primary Substations, Distribution Substations & Cables.
