With the introduction of a new maize seed variety called 722 Salli Karala to the local market, Plantseeds Private Limited a subsidiary of DIMO organized a mega promotional campaign with its Brand Ambassador Lucion Pushparaj, a professional bodybuilder, around the country from 18th August to 11th September 2020 covering Siyambalanduwa, Monaragala, Nochchiyagama, Wilachchiya, Bibile, Mahaoya, Padiyatalawa, Habarana, Galenbindunuwewa , Kahatagasdigiliya, Horowpathana and Medawachchiya covering key maize cultivation areas.
A series of awareness sessions were carried out during this field promotional campaign educating farmers about the new maize seed variety and the good agricultural practices that need to be followed. There was a good response from farmers for the newly introduced maize variety. Farmers had the opportunity to meet Lucion Pushparaja during the campaign and interact with him. The Brand ambassador also visited authorized dealer shops to promote the 722 Salli Karala among dealers and educate them on the benefits of the new maize seed variety.
DIMO’s Chairman & Managing Director Mr Ranjith Pandithage along with Mr Suresh Gooneratne (CFO), Mr Asanga Ranasinghe (CMO), Mr Rajeev Pandithage (General Manager) and Mr Priyanga Dematawa (General Manager) visited the 722 Salli Karala field promotional campaign at Siyambalanduwa, Buddama 9th Mile Post Local Market on 21st August to meet the local vendors and farmers.
