In 2018, DIMO introduced Automobile Mechatronics course which is probably the most recognised course in its category in Asia. This 3 year diploma in Automobile Mechatronics is accredited by the German Chamber of Commerce. This assures that the course offered by DIMO is exactly similar to the course conducted in Germany in every way. This includes the course work, hands-on practicals, instructors, class rooms and the recognition one will receive around the world, once completed.
The awareness session was held recently at DIMO 800 with the participation of students, their parents and the Senior Management of DIMO. Mr. Andreas Hergenroether (Delegate of German Industry and Commerce, Sri Lanka) educated participants on the German VET system and the role of the German Chamber of Commerce worldwide. Mr. Hergenroether elaborated on the uniqueness and the recognition DATS has received to conduct this course in Sri Lank and the career opportunities for graduates in Germany and around the world.
Mr. Ranjith Pandithage addressed the audience on the future prospects of vocational training in Sri Lanka, and how best to maximize opportunities. Mr. Vimukthi Randeny explained the importance of vocational training as the secret of Germany being the industrial superpower it is today, as well as the revolutionary step DIMO has taken in introducing such a world class exclusive qualification to the Sri Lankan public, following DIMO’s tradition of offering the best engineered products to the Sri Lankan public. Mr. Asanga Ranasinghe, Mrs Dilrukshi Kurukulasuriya, Mr. Viranga Wickramaratne and Mr. Rakhita Gunasekara introduced themselves as resource persons for the course. Mr. Gahanath Pandithage also graced the occasion. The attendees were taken on a tour to the state-of-the-art Mercedes-Benz Workshop, where they were able experience firsthand DIMO’s dedication to maintaining a world class standard in aftersales service.
