The scope of the project was to source water from the Aluthwela river which is taken in and there-after transferred to the main treatment plant. Two of the largest vertical turbine pumps in Sri Lanka, KSB B 14B/9 which has an individual capacity of 350 m3 per hour at 150m head operated with a 200 KW vertical motor was installed. DIMO supplied and installed a vertical foot mounted bladder type surge vessel which has a capacity of 4m3 and has the capability of operating at a maximum pressure of 20 bars. Maintaining the constant pressure of the entire length of the long distance pipelines was the challenge which was achieved with the DIMO Fluid Management’s superior product range. The entire range of valves, flow meters and other electro-mechanical accessories were installed by DIMO’s engineers to meet the project scope in its entirety.
