The new Siemens ARCADIS Orbic 3D raises Lanka Hospitals profile in the healthcare sector
The new Siemens ARCADIS Orbic 3D will take Sri Lankan healthcare to a whole new level of clinical excellence. From image quality to operability, from versatility to efficiency, the innovative features of the ARCADIS Orbic 3D are geared to set new benchmarks and greatly contribute to the enhanced precision of surgeries in the operating theatre of Lanka Hospitals Ltd. DIMO was proud to undertake the complete project from the design of the operating theatre to the installation, testing and commissioning to ensure the Siemens ARCADIC Orbic 3D was implemented to the satisfaction of all prevalent guidelines. This new high-end system with intraoperative three dimensional (3D) imaging capabilities provides higher power and faster scan times beside enhanced image quality. The 3D functionality is best suited for intraoperative use in orthopedic, trauma and spine surgery. The new mobile C-arm is suited for intraoperative 3D imaging of bones and joints of the upper and lower extremities; cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine; pelvis and hip areas. Virtually, the new Siemens ARCADIS Orbic 3D can be rotated to 190 degrees during surgeries and is capable of taking over a hundred 3D images in a minute. The images are immediately available for reference with further courses of action decided by the surgeons can be taken unlike a CT Scan or XRay. The device can store a minimum of 40,000 images at a time, hence even the reconstructed model can also be viewed simultaneously during the surgery. This technical marvel is equipped with a syngo user interface by Siemens, an intuitive software platform for all imaging modalities and systems. It harmonizes the operating processes of largely different systems for example magnetic resonance tomography or X-ray. Higher safety and precision during an intervention ensures the quality of surgical work. It helps not
only the patient, who will be spared from pain and further interventions, but also reduces overall costs. With outstanding functionalities that make excellent imaging a snap, comprehensive postprocessing features, and an overall ergonomic concept, DIMO and Siemens has once again introduced ground-breaking medical technology that will redefine clinical workflow in the healthcare sector.
