Mr Ranjith Pandithage signed an agreement with Mr Vimukthi Weeratunga (Operations Director at EFL) to continue to support and fund the Turtle Conservation Project at Panama for 2013/2014. DIMO partnered EFL in 2012/2013 to support the Turtle Conservation Project and obtained results which were encouraging. The agreement was signed at DIMO Head Office on Monday.

During the 2012/2013 season, a total of 105 nests were protected which contained 11,338 eggs. As expected, the first nest hatchings were observed from the 3rd of March 2013, and have been continuing very successfully. So far 8,856 hatchlings have made their way to the sea and more than 78% of the eggs have successfully hatched.
