Yet another achievement by DIMO Total Marine Solutions Repair Team

The Total Marine Solutions Department of DIMO Limited carried out another successful afloat repair job on board of a loaded gas tanker vessel 12 Nautical miles off East coast of Trincomalee. Four Units of MAN B & W Main engines of the Vessel Green Star, belonging to Evergas Ship Management Company – Singapore, were overhauled for 4 days. The Cargo capacity of this machine is 18,000 MT The owners were found content with the team’s performance and timely completion of the repairs.

Mercedes-Benz Vito Driver Training Program

A two-day driver training program was conducted for the new DHL Vito fleet last month by the Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles team at the Meerigama Kanway racing circuit. The training was conducted for 68 participants with a combined effort by Trainers from DIMO Na Sevana Technical Institute Suriyavewa, and Mercedes-Benz Sales and Aftersales teams.

The drivers and the couriers got an opportunity to learn the features of the vehicle and test drive them, prior to the takeover of the fleet. The drivers were also educated on road rules, road safety, economical and courteous driving. Mr Dimithri Perera (Country Manager – DHL Sri Lanka) and Mr Sugath Jayawickrama (National Operations Manager – DHL Sri Lanka) also participated at the event.

DIMO gets recognized multiple times at Great Place to Work 2016 Awards

Diesel and Motor Engineering PLC (DIMO) has yet again been recognized as one of the ‘Great Places to Work in 2016’ in Sri Lanka. This is the 4th consecutive year that DIMO has achieved this accolade.

Each year, Great Place to Work (GPTW) partners with more than 5,500 organizations with some 10 million employees worldwide to conduct the largest annual set of workplace culture studies in the world. This research which is laser-focused helps top leaders create their own great workplaces, according to a DIMO statement. This year Great Place to Work Sri Lanka recognized 25 companies having the best conducive working environments for their staff.

At an event held recently at Cinnamon Grand, GPTW representatives handed over the GPTW 2016 Certificate to Mr Ranjith Pandithage (Chairman and Managing Director – DIMO). Moreover, DIMO carried away multiple awards at event which included Best Public Limited Company (PLC), Special Category award for Excellence in Talent Acquisition and the top prize for “We love our Workplace” video contest.
