Another CSR Project by DIMO Anuradhapura Branch

DIMO Anuradhapura Branch together with the Public Health Inspection Department of Anuradhapura, conducted a Kidney Diagnostic Clinic for the members of the Civil Security Department unit in Thanthirimale. A special presentation was conducted by the PHI Officer – Mr N. G. T. Indika on how to prevent an early diagnosis of a kidney disease. Furthermore DIMO donated a water filter unit and water bottles to the Thanthirimale Civil Security Department. Cornel Karunaratne (Brigade Commander), Mr Anura Wijesinghe,  Mr Amila De Silva and members of the DIMO Anuradhapura Branch participated at this worthy cause where more than 350 participants took part in.

 

DIMO Partnered as the Main Sponsor for Bungee Festival powered by DIMO TATA GenX Nano

DIMO partnered as the Main Sponsor of the Bungee Festival held for the first time in Sri Lanka featuring the GenX Nano. This special event was hosted at the Waters Edge from the 08th – 10th January 2016. The objective was to gain a greater brand mileage through affiliating the TATA GenX Nano with the youth.

The entire event was fully branded with TATA GenX Nano with a prominent vehicle display and other material. The pre-event campaign of the bungee Festival powered by DIMO TATA GenX Nano was mainly based on digital medial through Facebook. The positive response DIMO gained from the Facebook competition carried out on the Tata Motors Sri Lanka Facebook page to give away Free Jumps both externally and internally was a highlight. Test drives were also offered to the jumpers and their valuable feedback was captured through interviews. Further, live updates of the event throughout the 3 days were shared on the Tata Motors Sri Lanka Facebook page encouraging the fans to come to witness the event.

DIMO delivers Sri Lanka’s largest bulldozer to HOLCIM

Diesel & Motor Engineering PLC (DIMO) recently handed over the largest bulldozer ever to be supplied to Sri Lanka, to HOLCIM at their site, with their main operational functions being ripping and dozing lime stones. This mammoth machine is a Komatsu D375 dozer, and is the second dozer to be delivered to HOLCIM from DIMO.

HOLCIM Lanka strives to contribute effectively to improve the quality of life of members of their workforce. Occupational safety plays an important role at HOLCIM, especially since mining and use of large machinery is involved in their day-to-day operations. Their guiding principal have been “Zero harm to people”. Mr Philippe Richart (CEO-HOLCIM) mentioned that the main reasons behind choosing Komatsu had been the unparalleled operator safety features, overall safety aspects of the D375, and the excellent after sales care given by DIMO.

The D375A-6 is a great combination of power and balance; power for digging and pushing, balance for stability on slopes and for ripping. A lock-up torque converter lets the D375A-6 to shift into direct drive when pushing to increase speed and production.

The simple ceremony took place at the HOLCIM Arawakkaru Quarry Site. Senior representatives from HOLCIM and DIMO took part at this historic handing over. HOLCIM was represented by Mr Philippe Richart (CEO), Mr Aridavid Lozano Estrada (Vice President – Manufacturing), Mr Prasad Piyadigama- Vice President (Human Resources), Mr Jayantha Rathnayake (Factory Manager- PCW), Mr Lakmal Fonseka (Procurement Category Manager) and Mr Wathsara Wedage (Quarry Manager). DIMO was represented by Mr Ranjith Pandithage (Chairman/Managing Director), Mr Gahanath Pandithage (Group CEO), Mr Channa Weerawardena (Director), Mr Chaminda Ranawana (COO – Construction Division), Mr Vijitha Bandara (COO – Tata Division), Mr Nishantha Fernando (Head of Sales – Construction Machinery), Mr Pubudu Senavirathna (Head of Service – Construction Machinery) Mr Thilanka Bandara (Operations Manager), Mr Milinda Nawarathne (Sales Manager) and Mr Damitha Wickramasinghe (Sales Manager).

The latest Komatsu dozer D375A-6 is a more advanced model with additional options compared to the D375A-5 which was supplied to HOLCIM in 2003. The D375A-5 has now passed 32,500 machine hours with an exceptional average of 90% availability. The Komatsu D375A-6 is powered by a KOMATSU SAA 6D170E turbocharged after cooled diesel engine that generates 636HP Gross @ 1800RPM. It has a common rail direct injection engine for better fuel consumption and it complies with emission regulations in Europe. It comes with a Hexagonal designed cab with more spacious interior, comfortable ride with cab damper mounting and K- Bogie under carriage, palm Command Control System for easy operation and the Travel Control Console integrated with Operator seat. It also boasts large liquid Crystal Display Monitor with 7”.

The Komatsu D375-6 is has advanced safety features such as ROPS Canopy (Prevents damages for the operator in the event of an accident), reversing alarms for safety warnings, maintenance Warning Screen for abnormality warning and replacement time display, safety provisions for climbing on the machine and anti-slip options for safe climbing and working lights for Night time operation and traveling.

DIMO is the only authorized distributor for Komatsu Construction and Mining Equipment and Material Handling Equipment in Sri Lanka, for more than 45 years.
