DIMO handed over 12 Komatsu excavators to the Climate Resilience Improvement Project (CRIP) of the Irrigation Department on the 23rd of November 2015. Hon Gamini Vijith Vijithamuni Soyza (Minister – Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources Management), Senior officers of the Ministry and the Management of DMO participated at the event which was held at DIMO 800.

A distribution of spectacles was carried out as one of our CSR initiatives with the purpose of building good relationships with the community living in the immediate surroundings of our workshop and enhancing community engagement. Prior to event, a free eye check-up was conducted for the entire community of Mahena road. The event was a brainchild of Mr. Ranjith Pandithage and Mr. Suresh Gunaratne. During the event Mr. Pandithage highlighted the importance of community engagement and keeping the environment we live in safe, for future generations. He pointed out the ethical practises adhered to by DIMO Siyambalape complex under strict guidelines of ISO. DIMO Siyambalape has been actively engaging with its community in the recent past through various programmes such as school books donations, free distribution of paddy seeds to farmers and periodic eye check-ups.

DIMO Agri Machinery Department delivered 15 tractors to Mahaweli Authority under the auspices of Minister of Irrigation and water resource management Hon. Vijith Vijithamuni Soysa. The inauguration ceremony was held today at the Irrigation workshop Rathmalana. Mr R.M.W. Rathnayake (Secretary), Mr Y. Abdul Majeed (Director General), Mr. S.S.L. Weerasinghe (Additional Director General), Mr K.U. Chandrawansa (Director Mechanical), Mr H.K.T.W.T. Gajanayake (Chief Engineer Mechanical), Mr Gihan Fernando and Hiran Gamage were present at this event.
