DIMO Recognized by Business Today Top Twenty Awards

DIMO was recognized by Business Today magazine in its Top Twenty Awards for 2010/2011 held at the Cinnamon Grand ranking 12th among the top corporates in Sri Lanka, a promotion of five places in comparison to the previous year. The event was attended by the top business leaders in Sri Lanka and leading personalities from government and opposition, government institutions, media and cinema. Established criteria used for selecting the Business Today Top Twenty were sales turnover, growth in sales turnover, profits, growth in profits, return on equity, growth in earnings per share, market capitalisation, value of shares transacted and value addition. High and growing top line performance, though necessary, is not the only criteria necessary to qualify as a Business Today Top Twenty performer. Guests of honor of the event were the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition Party.

DIMO recognized by the Governor of the Central Bank for its resilience during the 30 year war

DIMO yet again picked up another award at the Governor’s Global Commerce Excellence Awards held at the Ceylon Intercontinental Hotel on 13th December 2011. This was given to the top companies and individuals of Sri Lankan origin who contributed and played a vital role by keeping “the economy going” during the three decades of war. This award was bestowed in recognition of their resilience, commitment and contribution to the national economy, which played a crucial role in winning the war.

Mr. Ranjith Pandithage accepted the award from Mr. Lalith Weeratunga (Secretary to H.E. The President) and Governor of the Central Bank, Mr. Ajith Nivard Cabraal. All the top business leaders, media owners and chambers were present at the occasion.

DIMO Annual Report 2010/2011 Wins Two Gold Awards at the ICASL Awards

DIMO won two Gold awards at the Annual Report Awards organized by Chartered Accountants Sri Lanka (ICASL) which was held on 9th December 2011 at the Water’s Edge. DIMO won the gold award for the best annual report among groups with less than 5 subsidiaries category and more importantly a gold for Sustainability Reporting in the overall category. Mr. Gahanath Pandithage, Deputy CEO and Mr. Suresh Gooneratne, Executive Director accepted the awards on behalf of the Company.

The aim of the awards is to encourage effective communication to stakeholders through publication of informative annual reports; promoting effective presentation of financial and non-financial information; and compliance with legislative requirements and generally accepted accounting practices.
