Mr. Simon Perryman, an expert in the vocational training sector in the United Kingdom, visited the DATS facility situated in Weliweriya recently. He is an Independent Skills Consultant and is the Former Executive Director at the UK Commission for Employment and Skills.

Mr. Perryman visited Sri Lanka conforming to the invitation by NAITA to review the apprenticeship provision in Sri Lanka with the aim of improving the quality of the apprenticeship system in the country.

Mr. Perryman was impressed with the dual vocational training model, training facilities and the learning methodology at DATS and stated that by far it is a benchmark for vocational training in Sri Lanka.
